Visions Overcast

Sometimes I get spaced out
And stare off at the wall
Sometimes I want to think
About nothing much at all.

But right now I'm all wound up
It's something no one here denies
And the only place I want to be
Is lost within the sparkle of your eyes.

So don't you look away
I want to stay right here forever
The only way I'm leaving here
Is if it's you and me together.

With your left hand feel my touch
With your right one take this flower
And as the sun crests above the mountain top
We enter into this golden hour.

Can you feel the breeze upon your cheek?
And can you smell the ocean mist?
Do you see the sun reflecting off
Of the bracelet on your wrist?

Your smile shows that you are happy
Your eyes are full of bliss
Could this be that perfect moment?
Or did it really even exist?

Where Two Days Meet

The world’s full of violence
Like a fog up in my face
I want to find somewhere to hide
But I cannot find that place
So I look into the eyes
Of every individual that I pass
Hoping to find some feeling
Some emotion that will last
Most people are like ghosts
Moving quickly through the night
Just as leaves swept up by the wind
And carried softly out of sight
No one ever wants to stop
To take some time to smell the rain
And as the clock moves ever faster
Their life flows faster toward the drain
Where is the natural harmony?
It’s said that life is all a stage
Should there not then be a soundtrack
Accompanying each scene’s written page?
Why can’t I find understanding?
Or any level of true compassion?
And why must my ability to love
Be the one thing I’m forced to ration?
All these questions of existence
With so much more that’s on my mind
A constant quest for comprehension
With no answers that I can find.

Underway Again -- First Day, First Sunset

Amber ember of eternal life
Sinking softly into the sea
Meandering mysteries of the moon
Bearing their balance beam
A gradient gleaming golden glow
A dawning darkness in the dusk
A sinking crown of fire
And a rising ivory tusk
What a vast palette of hues
In such mass evaporation
Cleaning off the canvas
For the coming constellations.

Rainbow Colored Eyes

Through your rainbow colored eyes
I can see your foggy skies
As the sparrow slowly flies
Its wings transcribe a sad goodbye
But the tears dry in the sunlight
And I know that we'll be alright
Neither one of us can stay
So let's just dance the night away

Tomorrow morning you'll be gone
And I will still be sitting here
The next day after, I will leave
Still everything will be unclear
Yes, tomorrow you'll be there
And I'll be thinking about you
The next day after, I will leave
And life will have a duller hue.

Through the teardrops on your face
You see a love soon to be displaced
I know you sometimes need your space
Why must we end this warm embrace?
But the clouds cover up the moon
And I know you'll be going soon
Both of our skies are turning gray
So let's just dance the night away

Tomorrow morning you'll be gone
And I will still be sitting here
The next day after, I will leave
Still everything will be unclear
Yes, tomorrow you'll be there
And I'll be thinking about you
The next day after, I will leave
And life will have a duller hue.

Random Blabberdash of Verse

In this world we are all creatures of similar habits and we all hide from each other like carrots do from rabbits, as tears fall to the ground like bombs from machines of war -- and as eagles soar, mice abhor and quickly run for cover -- do we really love each other? In this crazy tug of war, can't you see that humanity is no more civil than any other animal? We have the ability to be free but choose to exist amidst so much hostility and it doesn't make any sense to me. Put down a gun to pick up a flower and throw away this consolidation of power because as we enter this final hour, all of our grapes are turning sour. The poorest half of our people cower as the most elite ten percent smash them further into flour -- easier to be swept under the rug but whatever happened to a hug? To any chance at peace? When will the violence cease? Humility and benevolence must increase because we are tearing at the crease.
