A Musically Spurred Poetic Piece of Social Commentary
Life is a massive quest
Flooded with the blood of patriotic civil unrest
That begs the question can we all pass the test
But surely this question would be asked all in jest
Because to answer correct you would not need to guess
As only those who are understanding will live through this mess.
Armies marching on as bombs are dropping everyday
Leaving children traumatized with no parents and nothing to say
Or with so much to say but without the words
This current situation strikes me as absurd.
Lines are continually blurred as the world progresses
The pain never lessens and we’re left with more questions
Than answers, with more social cancers,
That eat away at our shrinking humanity
And replace it with insanity, how can it be
That we praise ourselves as civilized creatures
But we fight more than flies over dried cheese on the bleachers
Justifying killing each other as a struggle for unity
But all I see is an abundance of lunacy
So I must ask, just who is free?
