Two Hundred and Forty Minutes

The concept of patriotism
Should not be based on a country
It should be rooted inside the notion
That every human deserves to be free.
I cannot ever look away
With so much suffering worldwide
The division brought forth by control
The torture and genocide.
If our species stands a chance
We must learn to live as one
This insane hate and ignorance
Creates a locked and loaded gun
Peace is the only answer
Pay no attention to the questions
This is a time of opportunity
To make a change in our direction
So free yourselves of hostility
Take a stranger by the hand
Benevolence will find the way
To make them understand.

We must go back to the basics and re-assess our species in terms of social cohesion before it is too late. Money, power, religion, and the corruption within it all, try to make us believe that we do not stand a chance at true interconnection as a human race. This is false. We, the common people from all corners of the world, have far more in common with each other than with those who seek to keep us divided. Once we as a species decide to think for ourselves and about each other, we will prevail. This is one world. We are one people. Color, spirituality, gender, age, culture, etc. cannot divide us unless WE choose to let it. Never forget that our inherent ability to reason also gives us our ability to change our ways and make things right. We will never be perfect but we can ALWAYS be better human beings to each other. We all have hearts. We all bleed red. WE ARE ALL ONE PEOPLE.
