A Season's Wind (Song...?)
I miss the sound of your voice
And the glimmer of your eyes
Remembering the feeling
When I had to say good bye
I miss the palette of your soul
And how it painted my sky blue
But more importantly
I cannot explain
Just how much that I am missing you.
You caught raindrops in your hands
Then, turned them all to pearls
We sat upon the sandy beaches
As you crept into my world
Your soul always seemed to resonate
With every note of my existence
Now, fate has had it's way
And all that's left is distance.
I sit in the dim light of the moon
As the months edge toward the winter
My eyelids feel like flood gates
Another heart stuck with a splinter
I maybe think of you too often
But its something that I can't help
I wrote these words this minute
Just so you could know...
Exactly how I felt.
And the glimmer of your eyes
Remembering the feeling
When I had to say good bye
I miss the palette of your soul
And how it painted my sky blue
But more importantly
I cannot explain
Just how much that I am missing you.
You caught raindrops in your hands
Then, turned them all to pearls
We sat upon the sandy beaches
As you crept into my world
Your soul always seemed to resonate
With every note of my existence
Now, fate has had it's way
And all that's left is distance.
I sit in the dim light of the moon
As the months edge toward the winter
My eyelids feel like flood gates
Another heart stuck with a splinter
I maybe think of you too often
But its something that I can't help
I wrote these words this minute
Just so you could know...
Exactly how I felt.

Dan, this is so beautiful. You have such a poetic soul....the kind that can reach through and touch the most human side of us all. Reading your blog, the feeling that I've been in solitary confinement here in Connecticut subsided. I felt more connected to the world as a whole. Not so alone. I don't know if that's the response you were eliciting in your lonely words, but the hallow echos filled the space around me as I read them, it was like sinking into a hot bath.
um. new post, please? it's been 2 months!
